Christmas time is an inspiring time of year, what ever your beliefs, Christmas is magical, it brings forth the feelings of love, sharing, and good will towards all living creatures.
Music inspires, I love Todd Agnew, his voice is simply incredible. My heart is filled with love this day for the great minds that have made a positive difference on this planet, Christ certainly being one of the most revered, quoted and admired. Examples of pure love and light, giving us hope for a planet of both.

Funny Friday
(as opposed to Three Wise Men)
Do you know what would have happened if there had been Three Wise WOMEN instead of Three Wise MEN?
The WOMEN would have:
- Asked directions,
- Arrived on time,
- Helped deliver the baby,
- Cleaned the stable,
- Made a casserole, and
- Brought practical gifts (like diapers!)

Good Morning and Great Day
There is a whispering essence within you that defines the brilliance of your being.
It is unique and special and no one else has the same tone and melody as you.
Your symphony constantly caresses you along your journey in life.
You dance to your own rhythm.
You create your own beat in life.
You sing your own song.
You see there is a sound to who you are.
A natural and loving harmony that constantly sings to you in ways that will open you up to the truth of who you are.
When you are present to your inner beingness then you get to hear the voices of encouraged optimism that know your gift and appreciate your talent.
It is in that present state of knowing that all the answers become clear to you and the road ahead is opened up to the vibrant creativity within you that is seeking to be expressed in all you do.
YOU have your own sound in life...and when you begin to listen for it, magic happens.
The magic of awe and wonder that brings a plethora of surprise to each new day.
Instead of hoping something will happen you will be so in tune with your intentional feelings that what you are seeking can't help but seek you.
The air around you will be heavy with possibility and the breath you take will be full of opportunity.
You will see the day with a more focused clarity of vision and each step you take will bring you closer to your higher purpose and calling.
There are no limits to what you can do.
No barriers to what you can create.
No boundaries to who you will become when you commit to listening to the inner sweet essence of the sound of your life.
Let the miracle of you come forward today and reach above and beyond anything you thought was possible as you begin to listen to the melody that brings you into harmony with your dreams.
"The essence of your presence is a perfect blueprint that is written in the language of your dreams."

Funny Friday
HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, 'THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND,'
WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS.
BUT JUST BEFORE HE REENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK "GOOD LUCK, MR... GORSKY".
MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGH IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT.
HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO GORSKY IN EITHER THE RUSSIAN OR AMERICAN SPACE PROGRAMS.
OVER THE YEARS MANY PEOPLE QUESTIONED ARMSTRONG AS TO WHAT THE 'GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY STATEMENT MEANT,
BUT ARMSTRONG ALWAYS JUST SMILED.
ON JULY 5, 1995, IN TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA , WHILE ANSWERING QUESTIONS FOLLOWING A SPEECH, A REPORTER BROUGHT
UP THE 26- YEAR-OLD QUESTION TO ARMSTRONG. THIS TIME HE FINALLY RESPONDED.
MR. GORSKY HAD DIED, SO NEIL ARMSTRONG FELT HE COULD NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION.
IN 1938, WHEN HE WAS A KID IN A SMALL MID-WEST TOWN, HE WAS PLAYING BASEBALL WITH A FRIEND IN THE BACKYARD.
HIS FRIEND HIT THE BALL, WHICH LANDED IN HIS NEIGHBOR'S YARD BY THEIR BEDROOM WINDOW.
HIS NEIGHBORS WERE MR. AND MRS. GORSKY.
AS HE LEANED DOWN TO PICK UP THE BALL, YOUNG ARMSTRONG HEARD MRS. GORSKY SHOUTING AT MR. GORSKY.
" SEX! YOU WANT SEX?! YOU'LL GET SEX WHEN THE KID NEXT DOOR WALKS ON THE MOON! "

Inspire Me
We all have a voice within our heart that is always speaking to us.
What do you do to listen to it?
How do you give yourself permission to step into the glorious space of acceptance of who you are?
Do you take the time to nurture yourself and give yourself the time to replenish, renew and rebirth yourself in ways that will open your heart and bring forth The Voice Of Your Heart?
Are you able to go within and listen to the voice that gives you every opportunity to be more and more of who you are?
You know there's more to who we are then sometimes even we can see.
When you take the time to listen to the The Voice Of Your Heart you will be amazed how all the magnificence and excellence you are begins to show up in all you do.
You will see things with such clarity and focus that whatever comes before you will be a sign for you to keep steping into the power of who you are.
Every day we get the chance to grow and transform ourselves.
We are always being given opportunities to see LIFE from a new perspective and to live LIFE with a new commitment to bring forth all the gifts that make up who we are.
There is no reason to play small.
If your going to have dreams and desires then you might as well have big ones because the universe does not know the concept of big or small.
The universe just wants to give you everything you set an intention to have and only knows that when your determination is strong and your vision is clear that you are ready to receive all you need to accomplish anything you set out to do.
Spirit never gives us anything we can't handle.
It is therefore so important to listen to The Voice Of Your Heart as you make the choices and take the actions you decide upon that will bring you closer to the success you are seeking.
It is in the listening that the answers will come.
Your heart holds the key to the freedom to be anything you want to be.
You have the power right where you are to create the life you desire and there is nothing that can stop you except YOU.
Be your biggest supporter and let go of anything that gets in the way of releasing the brilliance within you in every moment of this day.
"The art of creating the life you desire begins with listening to the masterpiece of magnificence that resides in your heart."

Happy Thanksgiving
Today we are having Thanksgiving dinner at our home in Park City. Misty, Braydan and the 3 perfect princess' will be traveling north to Grandmothers house, amazing, it seems like the other day when I was going over to my Grandmothers house for Thanksgiving, now I am the Grandma, wow, beyond belief!
Scott's parents will also be traveling up to spend Thanksgiving with us. Our two daughters won't be able to make it, Destiny and her family will be spending Thanksgiving in sunny Arizona, barrel racing. Tegan will be working in St. Geroge at the Dixie 6 high school rodeo, giving treatments with the Acu-Scope and Myo-Pulse, and my Mom, she chose to go with her friend Gale to Mesquite. My mom deserves a break from fixing dinner, she provided dinner for our family for many decades, I hope she has a wonderful time with her dear friend Gale.
Thanksgiving is a celebratory feast of thanks. What a wonderful tradition it is. We are so blessed to live in a part of the world where feasts with families are possible. My heart is so full of gratitude for all I have been given and all my abilities to create a life of happiness and purpose.
I wish all of you the best Thanksgiving, as we say a prayer of thanks this day, I am humbled and so very thankful for all the blessings that come my way.
With Love and Gratitude,

Dream Big
Many years growing up I adored this day. The last day of school before the long weekend break, the anticipation of my Grandmothers outstanding cooking. Her famous fried cabbage, creamed carrots from out of the garden, the best homemade rolls period, and OMG the pies, my grandmother could make pies. Pumpkin, apple, mincemeat, or lemon, how could I only pick 2:-).
Food has great memories attached to it. I love a great turkey dinner, the smell as it is cooking, the sandwiches it gives for days after the event. Homemade rolls, miracle whip, salted turkey, and leftovers. Does it get any better than that?
As a young girl food really wasn't my thing, except for one day a year, Turkey Day, I never remember having turkey any other day of the year, I think that is why it was such a anticipated event.
I am so grateful for my maternal grandmother, Grandma Ceil, I never felt more loved by anyone growing up, her love gave incredible flavor to her delicious meals. Grandma thank you for everything, you truly light up this holiday for me.
Today I have to remember and go pick up the pies I ordered , sorry Grandma the legacy is going to die with your daughter my mother, maybe in a few years from now I will, no I won't, I will be doing what I do best and that is not being a chef.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve,
Danna

Tipsy Tuesday
1. Thawing a frozen turkey requires patience. The safest method is to thaw turkey in the refrigerator. Be sure to plan ahead — it takes approximately 3 days for a 20 pound turkey to fully defrost.
2. For crisper skin, unwrap the turkey the day before roasting and leave it uncovered in the refrigerator overnight.
3. Cooking times will differ depending on whether your bird was purchased fresh or frozen. Plan on 20 minutes per pound in a 350 degree F oven for a defrosted turkey and 10 to 15 minutes per pound for fresh.
4. A turkey will cook more evenly if it is not densely stuffed. Consider adding flavor by loosely filling the cavity with aromatic vegetables — carrots, celery, onion or garlic work nicely — or by carefully tucking fresh herbs underneath the breast skin. For the stuffing lovers, cook the dressing in a casserole dish on the side.
5. For even roasting, truss your turkey.
6. Before roasting, coat the outside of the turkey with vegetable or olive oil, season with salt and pepper and tightly cover the breast with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning (it will be removed in step 7).
7. Don't be a peeping tom (no pun intended)! Once you get the turkey in the oven, resist the temptation to open the oven door and admire your handiwork. When the oven temperature fluctuates, you're only increasing the likelihood of a dry bird. About 45 minutes before you think the turkey is done, remove the foil from the breast to allow it to brown.
8. Remove the turkey from the oven when the deepest spot between the leg and the breast reads 180 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer. Check the internal temperature of the stuffing as well; it should be at least 165 degrees.
9. Tent the bird with foil and let rest for about 15 minutes before carving. If you need more time to make gravy, heat up side dishes, etc., you can let the turkey set for up to an hour without losing too much heat.
10. Remember to carve your turkey with a very sharp or electic knife.

Time to thaw the bird!!!!

On The Road Again
Time to be grateful, I am very grateful that I am not traveling to a show on Thanksgiving Day, many years we have eaten a rodeo burger, or stopped at the Flying J in Barstow California to get fuel as we grabed a buffet or we would just grab a sandwich and eat in the truck. My family has made many scarifies for our business, giving up holidays, birthdays, and weekends are just a few of many.
This year both daughters will be out working on Thanksgiving. Tegan will be with Wendy Winn and Jean Lopour at the Dixie 6 high school rodeo working on horses and humans with the acuscope and myopulse.
Destiny and Dru along with our two perfect Grandchildren will be in Arizona this week, Destiny is entered in barrel races down there, she has been getting ready to run in the big barrel race during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
Braydan, Misty and the three princess' will be traveling to Grandmother's house, how weird that's me:-). Over the river and through the woods to Grandmothers house they go!
And my mother believe it or not will be spending Thanksgiving with her dear friend Gale in Mesquite Nevada. Those girls know how to get out of cooking:-). It's about time they took a break.
I give thanks everyday for the wonderful family and friends I have been blessed with. Our amazing team members the "Burns Bunch" work like high performance machines keeping all our projects in place.
I am especially grateful today for our office manager, Ms. Randi Jean Jorgensen, she is simply the best! It is her Birthday today! What a wonderful friend and contributor she is to our company. Her quick sense of humor is priceless. My spell checker, Shaw tracker, and karaoke partner. When I want it done, I call Randi, 20 times a day:-) Thanks for doing more than you are paid for, kudos for your impeccable phone and people skills! Happy Happy Birthday!
Happy Thanksgiving Week,

Inspire Me
This poem has always inspired me, I wrote the following in my journal about the Patanjali quote.
I was inspired by a great purpose, some extraordinary projects, my thoughts were breaking all prior bonds, I began to feel I could live in a no limit life, I was beginning to wake up to my potential. Dormant forces, that word stopped me, Dormant Forces, Patanjali this revered sage that wrote the Yoga Sutras stated Dormant Forces, were these dormant forces, God? My hands began to tingle as I played this over and over again. I was discovering myself to be a far greater person than I ever dreamed myself to be!
Wayne Dyer’s book Wisdom of the Ages has Patanjali’s quote and many other wonderful masterful writers works, a book I keep on my night stand I reference frequently.
Our words do make a difference, even thousands of years later, we revere these wise individuals that observed life, lived life, and contributed with their thoughts by putting them into script. I often wonder if these wise sages comprehended the impact their words would serve on the masses centuries later.
Being inspired, doing what your soul is longing to do. Feeling fear, and doing it despite
The fear. When I feel uncomfortable about something I decide to play, just get in the game and play, you may not win the first game, but if your desire is to win, win you must. People say follow your first instinct; if it is fear telling you not to play, DON’T FOLLOW IT! The multimillion dollar quote applies, JUST DO IT!

Rave Reviews and Recipes
For each 2 cups gravy desired - use 3 tablespoons fat, 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, and 2 cups of liquid (poultry juices or broth, vegetable juice, bouillon, and/or water).
Any type of liquid can be added to make gravy, but always use the drippings from the roasting pan and turkey broth to make your turkey gravy. Add other liquids as needed for flavor and quantity of gravy.
In a separate container with a lid, shake together all-purpose flour needed and about 2 cups cool water. This is called a slurry. Adding the thickener (flour) in this way helps to prevent lumps from forming when making your gravy.
Once the liquid and drippings in the pan are lightly bubbling, slowly add the slurry mixture to the gravy pan, stirring constantly. If it starts to thicken immediately, stop adding the remaining slurry, you may not need to use the whole amount depending on how much or little drippings were in the pan. If lumps do develop, you should be able to use a wire whisk to remove them.
Simmer gently about 10 minutes to cook the flour all the way through (undercooked flour gives off a raw taste). Correct the salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the gravy into a warmed sauceboat or wide-mouthed pitcher for serving. Remember that gravy will continue to thicken after it has been removed from the heat.
The best holiday for cooking is just days away, ENJOY!

Zen Horse
By Clinton Anderson
Move your horse’s feet to establish your leadership role.
Horses challenge their own pecking order daily, and they will do the same to you. It’s nothing personal – it’s just business. Horses are natural followers, but they want a leader they can respect and trust. Every day, your horse will test you to see if you deserve to lead him. Just like the dominant horse in a herd, you have to be worthy of the leadership role in your relationship with your horse. You have to prove to him that you can move his feet forwards, backwards, left and right and are always willing to reward the slightest try. The number one horse in the herd doesn’t have to be the biggest horse or the strongest horse, he just has to be the bravest and smartest. He has to be the most effective leader. When he tells the other horses to move, they better move or he’s going to back it up with action. He’ll kick, bite, strike or do whatever it takes to get the other horses to move their feet. The m! ore you can move your horse’s feet, the more control you have. The less you can move your horse’s feet, the less control you have and the more disrespectful he will be. Keep that in mind – the more the horse moves your feet, the pushier and more disrespectful he will become.
Happy Trails,
Danna

Dream Big
is not going to do you more good.
Move resolutely, but don't rush. There's a difference.
Rushing removes resolution, often replacing it with
panic or irrationality or, at best, not well thought-out
choices.
So keep moving. Don't stop. But don't rush. Don't
race around. Sure and steady gets you there every
time.
Great Advice! Staying centered and present, prevents accidents, gives you clarity of mind that will help you do the job right the first time. Leaving you more time to accomplish other tasks or just time to relax and enjoy life.
Living and enjoying the moment not rushing through it will provide a life of enjoyment and fulfillment.
Rush less, enjoy more,

Tipsy Tuesday
You know the story of Bill Gates. From a score of 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT to dropping out of Harvard. Then founding Microsoft and becoming the world’s richest man. But there’s something that’s usually forgotten about his story. He didn't climb to the summit of success alone — he carried millions of people with him. People from all walks of life who were able to prosper because of him. Find your own path — but make sure it's wide enough to handle all the lives it will change.
I give thanks daily for the great minds that through their thoughts, insight, and action I receive a life of convince and numerous opportunities to prosper. It encourages me to return the advance.
My tip this Tuesday.
Return the Advance.
With much Appreciation,

Rave Reviews and Recipes
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup milk
1 package active dry yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm water (105 to 115 degrees)
1 egg, beaten
4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
Butter, melted
In a large bowl, combine sugar, vegetable shortening, and salt; stir until well blended. In a small saucepan, scald milk; pour over sugar mixture. Cool to lukewarm (105 to 115 degrees F).
In a small bowl, combine yeast and water; stir until yeast is dissolved. Mix in egg until well blended; stir into milk mixture.
Add 2 cups flour. Gradually stir in as much of the remaining flour as dough will absorb, mixing well. (Add additional flour carefully. You can always add more flour, but once you've added too much, the result will be a dry product.) Place dough into a well-greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover bowl and dough with wax paper and a towel, held in place with a rubber band. Refrigerate at least 8 hours but no longer than 5 days.
Grease a baking pan or muffin cups. To bake, shape into desired amount of rolls (cloverleaf rolls, Parker House rolls, or crescent-shaped rolls) and shape dough into tight balls). As you shape the rolls, you want to stretch the top of the dough ball while simultaneously sealing the bottom. The stretching helps the dough hold up to the expansion that occurs in the oven, while the sealing prevents the rolls from opening up while baking and becoming wrinkled and doughy on the bottom. As you work, keep the rest of the dough pieces covered with plastic wrap so they will n ot dry out.
Place the balls (in the desired style you want - see below) onto prepared baking pan or into prepared muffin cups. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees), free from drafts, until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
NOTE: As it isn't always easy to divide the dough by sight, I recommend that you weight the pieces. For 16 rolls, each piece should weight just a little over 2 ounces.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and remove from pans.
Yields 16 to 24 rolls (depending on size).
Thanksgiving is on it's way YUMMMM!!!!
My Mother makes the best bread rolls ever!
Happy Cooking,

Friday the 13th
One year ago today we had our grand opening of our Park City Store, ironically enough it fell on Friday the 13th as well.
What a phenomenal year it has been. Now a year later we are putting together another location on historic main just two doors away, the address is 333 Main.

Zen Horse

Establish your personal hula hoop space.
As a trainer, you need your horse’s respect and attention in order to teach him and gain his trust.
Establishing your personal space will help you stay safe while doing just that.
The first thing your horse has to understand is that you are fragile and he needs to be careful around you.
I honestly don’t believe that most horses intend to hurt us.
They just don’t realize that there’s a massive weight difference.
Consider the weight difference between you and your horse.
Your horse is roughly ten times your weight.
He’s in a 1,300 pound category and you’re in a 130 to 200 pound category.
By establishing your personal hula hoop space, you’ll keep yourself safe while working with your horse and earning his respect.
Your horse should only enter your personal space if you specifically invite him to come up to you. Otherwise, he should keep a respect ful, safe distance.

"'Killer Spices' Provide Eco-Friendly Pesticides for Organic Fruits and Veggies" - from Science Daily.
Environmentally-friendly and natural pesticide sprays made of oils such as Rosemary, Thyme, Clove, Mint, Cinnamon, Peppermint, Lavender, Basil and others are being tested to naturally combat insects on organically-grown foods.
Tests are also being done with oils that can destroy microbes such as E Coli and Salmonella, as well as for repellents against ticks and fleas on house pets. As an alternative to chemical pesticides, essential oil sprays show promise and are under study at the University of British Columbia.
Awareness that chemicals are toxic to our system, then an outstanding matrix of people rush in to find a solution.
Native Americans used roots and plants for all medicines and antiseptics , we thought we could improve on their systems, chemicals were developed, with amazing results, now we find out they weaken us, so back to developing with roots and plants. Pretty amazing how things come full circle.

"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought."— Peace Pilgrim: Born Mildred Norman, was a peace activist and spiritual leader
Once you figure this out you become very careful what you think about.
Observing your thoughts requires work/action, you must slow your thoughts and step outside yourself and observe.
Feelings are sensors that tell you what you are thinking. That's really cool!
When you are feeling sad, you know you have been thinking sad thoughts, when you are angry, more things will be coming your way to become angry about, but when you feel good and are filled with happiness and joy, then you know you have been thinking thoughts that serve you and the Universe, congratulate yourself and keep thinking things that make you happy, healthy, wealthy and wise.
When I find myself thinking negative a turn around for me is, repeating over and over in my mind, I love and approve of myself, that gets me back on the positive train.
Thoughts do matter, they create matter, so always think what do I want, and use the most powerful computer in the Universe, your mind, to manifest it.

On The Road Again
The past few weeks we have been in overdrive. I know, when aren't we, right. If you read this blog at all you know the Burns Bunch are not sit around and worry type's, we make our own economy, by jumping on the fast track and just flat out run!
Last week we had two outside shows. PBR Finals held at the Mandalay Convention Center in Las Vegas Nevada, Braydan, Jake, Lynn, Sissy and Amanda split up shifts and covered the 10 day event.
My much smaller team of Rick and Tori Elegante as well as a new Burns Team prospect Tracy Salberg covered the Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in Heber City Utah. It was great to have lunch with Melissa and Dave Stamey. How wonderful it was to be located close enough to hear the outstanding talent they have at the gathering. Thanks to Tom Whitaker and his team for putting on such a nice event for our state as well as our Cowboy genere.
Stephanie and Scott handed out 2000 pieces of candy to all the trick or treaters at our Park City store on Halloween while I jetted off to Las Vegas for a 101 University writing seminar.
Just hours before my writing seminar I was in El Paso Texas at the Lucchese Factory buying and designing boots with top boot designer Fred Gibbon.
The few hours in between flights from Texas to Las Vegas I negotiated another project into the mix. Another location on Park City's Historic Main Street, located just two doors up the street .
Opening date is set for December 15th right after NFR! CRAZY!!!FUN!!!STUFF!!!
Oh yeah, did I mention I am writing a book!
This week our team of Braydan ,Misty, Jake and Tiffany, will be setting up and selling at the Indian National Finals in Las Vegas.
Scott is organizing the staging area for NFR and I am working in Park City getting logistics done for NFR, new store, old store, and oldest store. In my spare time, I am writing a book!
So there it is the reason I have missed a couple of On The Road Again's. And if your wondering, no I don't watch television.

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

Funny Friday
$5.37. That's what the kid behind the counter at Taco Bueno said to me.
I dug into my pocket and pulled out some lint and two dimes and something that used to be a Jolly Rancher.
Having already handed the kid a five-spot, I started to head back out to the truck to grab some change when the kid with the Emo hairdo said the harshest thing anyone has ever said to me.
He said, "It's OK. I'll just give you the senior citizen discount."
I turned to see who he was talking to and then heard the sound of change hitting the counter in front of me.
"Only $4.68" he said cheerfully.
I stood there stupefied.
I am 48, not even 50 yet?"
A mere child!
Senior citizen?
I took my burrito and walked out to the truck wondering what was wrong with Emo.
Was he blind?
As I sat in the truck, my blood began to boil. Old?
Me?
I'll show him, I thought.
I opened the door and headed back inside.
I strode to the counter, and there he was waiting with a smile.
Before I could say a word, he held up something and jingled it in front of me, like I could be that easily distracted!
What am I now?
A toddler?
"Dude! Can't get too far without your car keys, he?"
I stared with utter disdain at the keys.
I began to rationalize in my mind.
"Leaving keys behind hardly makes a man elderly!
It could happen to anyone!"
I turned and headed back to the truck.
I slipped the key into the ignition, but it wouldn't turn.
What now?
I checked my keys and tried another.
Still nothing.
That's when I noticed the purple beads hanging from my rearview mirror.
I had no purple beads hanging from my rearview mirror.
Then, a few other objects came into focus.
The car seat in the back seat.
Happy Meal toys spread all over the floorboard.
A partially eaten doughnut on the dashboard.
Faster than you can say ginkgo biloba, I flew out of the alien vehicle.
Moments later I was speeding out of the parking lot, relieved to finally be leaving this nightmarish stop in my life.
That is when I felt it, deep in the bowels of my stomach: hunger!
My stomach growled and churned, and I reached to grab my burrito, only it was nowhere to be found.
I swung the truck around, gathered my courage, and strode back into the restaurant one final time.
There Emo stood, draped in youth and black nail polish.
All I could think was, "What is the world coming to?"
All I could say was, "Did I leave my food and drink in here?"
At this point I was ready to ask a Boy Scout to help me back to my vehicle, and then go straight home and apply for Social Security benefits.
Emo had no clue.
I walked back out to the truck, and suddenly a young lad came up and tugged on my jeans to get my attention.
He was holding up a drink and a bag.
His mother explained, "I think you left this in my truck by mistake."
I took the food and drink from the little boy and sheepishly apologized.
She offered these kind words:
"It's OK. My grandmother does stuff like this all the time."
All of this is to explain how I got a ticket doing 85 in a 40.
Yes, I was racing some punk kid in a Toyota Prius.. And no, I told the officer, I'm not too old to be driving this fast.
As I walked in the front door, my husband met me halfway down the hall.
I handed him a bag of cold food and a $300 speeding ticket.
I promptly sat in my rocking chair and covered up my legs with a blanky.
The good news was I had successfully found my way home.

Zen Horse
By Clinton Anderson
Don’t let your emotions get in the way.
Human emotions have no place in training horses. If you try to deal with a horse based on emotions, you won’t get the response you want because he won’t understand what you’re asking him to do.
You have to be able to correct your horse and increase pressure without raising your emotion. Losing your temper is bad because even if the horse does what you want him to do, you won’t recognize it because you’ll be too focused on the punishment.
And if you don’t reward the horse for the correct behavior, he won’t understand what you’re asking him to do.
If he can’t figure out the answer you’re looking for, he’ll get confused and frustrated, which will only make the situation worse.
At the same time, you can’t just love and rub on your horse and expect him to be respectful of you.
You have to be willing to correct him if he steps out of line. I love my horses to death, but I don’t let them get away with things. The fact that I love them doesn’t affect my rules.
It’s the same way my parents were with me – they both loved me, but they’d correct me when I needed it. Your goal is to get a well-trained horse that you feel safe around and enjoy spending time with. Don’t ruin your progress by letting your emotions get in the way.

The winter Olympics are back this year, I love the stories of these amazing gifted athletes.
When I met Scott Hamilton and his family I was so impressed with their genuineness. His story is incredible, he runs off of high energy and loves life. I remember watching him in awe as he pushed the envelope in figure skating winning the gold and also winning the hearts of the world.
I love stories about people that never give up and use that strength to accomplish extra ordinary things.

Happy 19th Birthday Tegan!
19 years ago our family was given an outstanding gift, her name is Tegan Shaw.
From a young age you could see her passion was animals. She was the collector of strays. Stray dogs, stray cats, snakes, bugs, birds, you name it she saved it.
Tegan loved her pets, she also loved to rig them up to everything, one day she rigged her dog up to a roping dummy in our store, he freaked out thinking a steer was chasing him. Running all around the store trying to escape from the steer that continued chasing him 3 feet behind because of the rope that was attached . Shelves were tipped, boots pulled off displays, horse medicine lay in piles and finally we caught him and unhooked him. Scott never had any halters or lead ropes, Tegan used them to hook up her dogs to her wagon and they would pull her all over town.
Tegan also was practically raised at the Blackhawk Arena, her and her dogs would get covered in red dirt, so naturally she took care of it, by washing her and her dogs in the public bathroom, there were bubbles from HELL!
Tegan of course loves horses, she started competing at the young age of 3 winning trophies saddles and lots of cash. She bought her first car with the money she won barrel racing.
Tegan now rehabs horses, she is a certified technician in Acu-Scope and Myo-Pulse for horses, dogs and humans, she loves her job and would like to work full time in a doctors office helping people become pain free with the use of energy medicine.
Tegan has always been self reliant and a non conformist, she is impeccable with her word, she is a gorgeous blond with the most beautiful eyes and lips, she was a beautiful baby with a personality that would always attract praises. I am so happy I was blessed to be her mother, she has taught me so much, mostly that I am not in charge of her:-), she came here for her purpose, and she is making a positive difference by helping horses and humanity.
I love you Tegan, I am proud of you, Thank You for teaching me.
Have a Wonderful Birthday!
I wish you the best year of your life, until next:-)!

Never forget that horses have the quickest reaction time of any domesticated animal.
If a horse gets frightened, and you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, things could get ugly in a hurry. More people get hurt every year by broke, quiet horses than they do by wild horses because people take them for granted and take more risks around them. I always tell my Apprentices, “If you treat every horse like a wild mustang, you’ll never get hurt.” Get in the habit of practicing safety around all horses so that you’ll never get caught off guard. Many people will get into the habit of being lazy around their horse, where they won’t always stand at a 45-degree angle or keep their hand up by the horse’s eye as they desensitize him. Then one day their neighbor asks them to come over to work with a new horse they just got. So they’ll go and start throwing the leadrope at this new horse and wonder why he runs straight over the top of them. Never assume a horse is safe. Always make him prove it to you.

how anybody or anything outside ourselves will affect us."
— Stephen Covey: Personal development author and speaker
Our choice!
Our mind also flows through our cells, want to be healthy, choose thoughts that strengthen not weaken.
Next time you have pains or sickness instead of supporting the pharmaceutical companies, set down with yourself and ask, what is going on, what is weakening my body, how have I been reacting to circumstances in my life. Observing yourself can help diagnose the problem, changing the way you react will move you into a happier healthier lifestyle.

What is it about someone falling that is pee your pants funny? Funny if you get to witness it not so funny if your the one falling.
One day back in 1980's we were at the horse races in South Jordan, our horse was in the race, we won the race and through my excitement I hooked my heel on the bleachers and tried to recover, four steps later, I splattered, the whole bleachers let out a ahhh, just as if a jockey had been tossed off, I buggered up my elbow and knee, as I lay there twisted and broken all my mother did was look at me with embarrassment and said what the hell are you doing! The rest of the day anytime I walked past anyone they would whisper there is that girl that fell out of the bleachers. Funny for all of them, not so funny for me.
In the youtube video I especially like the guy looking at the girls on the beach only to fall on top of a girl on the ground.

Zen Horse
By Clinton Anderson
If you want your horse to change, you have to be willing to change first.
That is the most important concept you can understand when it comes to training horses. When I was an apprentice for Ian Francis, he often said to me, “To change your life, you must first change your attitude.” Ian believes, as do I, that if you’re unhappy with the current state of your life, you need to change your attitude and perceive your life the way you’d like for it to be. I’ve incorporated that saying into training horses – “If you want to change your horse, you must first change the way you interact with him.” When you interact with your horse in a way that he understands, you’ll get results. But if you keep doing the same thing, you’ll keep getting the same results. If you want a different reaction from your horse and want to progress your horsemanship, you’ll have to change the way you work around him and start seeing things from his point of view.
Amazing how all things tie back to attitude.

Comfort Zone."
How true!!! My growth on a personal and business level accelerates when I face my fears and head into "Unchartered Territory". I have teased for years that as soon as I enter a comfort zone in life it's time for me to make a substantial move. I like living on the border of chaos and order, it stimulates my mind and makes me think. The only way we experience life is to jump right in the middle of it, the only way to gain more out of life is to head into "Unchartered Territory".
A year ago I chartered new territory, so glad I did.

On The Road Again
Oh my, take a breath sit down and blogg! The past two weeks have been overflowing with activity. Packed with new electrifying business adventures. Electrifying is the right adjective as one of those business' is revolutionizing health care through building cells with precise electrical current.
Destiny, Dusdee, and I headed to Las Vegas for the CEO SPACE conference, we were there to help John Thorp/Thorp Institute assist in promoting Energy Medicine. I was so impressed I was in awe. This conference was mind blowing, CEO SPACE is a private club which hosts five business trade programs each year for enrolled members. Their mission is to reduce cost and time to reach growth goals for business'.
A world trade show of business, had I transcended into business heaven? I was shaking hands and being introduced to executives of fortune 500 companies as well as authors such as Mark Victor Hansen, yes I met and talked to "Mark Victor Hansen!"
Our position was to introduce this Micro-Current Technology that will change the face of medicine as we know it today. We definitely received attention. We met doctors, investors, marketing agents, CFO'S, CEO'S actors, authors, all very successful and all interested in how this advanced computer technology successfully relieves pain and promotes healing 2 to 3 times faster than traditional medicine.
Dusdee flew back to Wyoming, Destiny and I headed northbound full of excitement and energy, I dropped her off in Salina at 2am and I pulled in my garage just after 4am , energy consumed.
Two days to repack, return emails and phone calls then it was off to sunny southern California for additional training with the Acu-scope and Myo-pulse. Four days jammed packed with INFORMATION, and a dreaded test at the end of it. Could this "Old Dog" learn new tricks, how long has it been since I set in a structured class setting, 1970 what!
We all passed with A+'s, Whew! School is much easier when your learning something you are passionate about. Now I am an official Acu-Myo Techie.
Finished class at 3pm Sunday, drove all the way to Park City and arrived home this time at 3:30 am. Again energy consumed!
On the road again next week, only this time I only have to drive to the airport:-) Flying to El Paso Texas home of the Lucchese Boot Company, this trip I preview the Denver market line and design more snappy boots.
Happy Late Night Trails,

Inspire Me
Grandma, some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the patio bench.
She didn't move, just sat with her head down staring at her hands.
When I sat down beside her she didn't acknowledge my presence and the longer I sat I wondered if she was OK Finally, not really wanting to disturb her but wanting to check on her at the same time, I asked her if she was OK.
She raised her head and looked at me and smiled.
'Yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking,' she said in a clear strong voice.
'I didn't mean to disturb you, grandma, but you were just sitting here staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were OK,' I explained to her.
'Have you ever looked at your hands,' she asked.
'I mean really looked at your hands?
I slowly opened my hands and stared down at them.
I turned them over, palms up and then palms down.
No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the point she was making.
Grandma smiled and related this story:
'Stop and think for a moment about the hands you have, how they have served you well throughout your years.
These hands, though wrinkled shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and embrace life..
'They braced and caught my fall when as a toddler I crashed upon the floor.
They put food in my mouth and clothes on my back.
As a child, my mother taught me to fold them in prayer.
They tied my shoes and pulled on my boots.
They held my husband and wiped my tears when he went off to war.
'They have been dirty, scraped and raw , swollen and bent.
They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son.
Decorated with my wedding band they showed the world that I was married and loved someone special.
They wrote my letters to him and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and spouse.
'They have held my children and grandchildren, consoled neighbors, and shook in fists of anger when I didn't understand.
They have covered my face, combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of my body. They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw.
And to this day when not much of anything else of me works real well these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold in prayer.
'These hands are the mark of where I've been and the ruggedness of life.
But more importantly it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when he leads me home.
And with my hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch the face of God.
Namaste,
Danna

Dream Big
In order to "Dream Big" you must find that quite space alone to create. I remember when I was young my little brother Dallas who was 7 years younger than I would escape off by himself and take a piece of grass and play with it on his thumb nail, I was amazed at the trance he would fall into, I wondered if there was something wrong with him, what I now discovered was there was something right with him.
Dallas was an incredible spirit, he vibrated at a level of consciousness higher than anyone I had ever met. In 1976 we tragically lost Dallas he was only 10 years old, his wisdom however was lifetimes ahead of mine.
Dallas you inspired me to go off by myself and dream, I now know that we are timeless energy, and that we can unite in that invisibleness that you used to escape too.

— Wayne Dyer: Self-development author and speaker
When I think back at times in my life when I was not very proud of my reaction to a circumstance it really revealed who I was at the time, my thoughts feelings and emotions exploded with the squeezing revealing myself to me and everyone who witnessed my shortcomings.
It is important to be squeezed every once in a while to see what comes out. Sometimes I do very well and other times I am very bitter. My intention is that what I am putting into myself when squeezed will flow sweetly, James Allen said it best, "Circumstances don't make a man, they reveal him."

until someone needs $5.
Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly..
Also, must possess the physical stamina of a
pack mule
and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat
in case, this time, the screams from
the backyard are not someone just crying wolf.
Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges,
such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets
and stuck zippers.

coordinate production of multiple homework projects.
Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings

so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE :
None required unfortunately.
On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.
WAGES AND COMPENSATION :
Get this! You pay them!
Offering frequent raises and bonuses.
A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because
of the assumption that college will help them
become financially independent.
When you die, you give them whatever is left.
The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that
you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.
BENEFITS :
While no health or dental insurance, no pension,
no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and
no stock options are offered;
this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love,

All of it worth it, I can say that all three of mine are legal adults:-)!

Zen Horse
By Clinton Anderson
Give your horse a purpose.
Don’t go out and do the same boring thing the same boring way every single day. Your horse will learn to hate his job. You can do the same exercises as long as you do them in different ways. For example, give the horse a reason to do the groundwork by doing the Sending Exercise in and out of the pasture gate, or through a puddle. Have him jump over a log. Back him around some trees or cones. Doing the groundwork outside is a great way to train on your horse without him even realizing that you’re doing it because it keeps it so interesting for him. Use your imagination. Challenge yourself and your horse every day.
Great Tip for Horses and Life.
Happy Different Trails,

Inspire Me
your personal attitude toward them.
Norman Vincent Peale said that, and he touched on
something truly profound. If someone is vexing you
right now, say a prayer for that person. Send them all
of your best energies.
Nothing changes the environment like one person
deciding to love another, no matter what.
This daily message was sent to me by Neale Donald Walsh, I appreciate getting these helpful messages, they promote positive thought stimuli to our subconscious, so when the occasions arrive, we can spontaneously pull from the messages we have read creating a positive reaction to our situations.
Every thought is essentially a prayer we are constantly sending out into the universe, the more loving our thoughts, the better our world becomes, I am much more aware of the thoughts/prayers I send out, my intention is they all be filled with love.
With Loving Thoughts,

Rave Reviews and Recipes
Recipe found on allrecipes.com
INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1/2 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1/2 butternut squash - peeled, seeded, and cut into 1-inch cubes
4 cups chicken stock
1/2 cube chicken bouillon
1 pinch ground cumin
1 pinch ground allspice
salt and ground black pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat; cook the onion, garlic, and thyme in the hot butter until the onion has softened, about 5 minutes. Add the squash and chicken stock; bring to a simmer and cook until the squash is tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Crumble the bouillon into the soup; season with cumin, allspice, salt, and pepper; remove from heat.
Pour the soup into a blender, filling the pitcher no more than halfway. Hold the lid of the blender in place with a kitchen towel and carefully start the blender using a few quick pulses to get the soup moving before leaving it on to puree. Puree in batches until smooth and pour into a serving bowl. Alternately, you can use a stick blender and puree the soup in the pot.
I love fall cooking, its the best! Temperatures are cooling, time for soup!
Enjoy,

Zen Horse
By Clinton Anderson
Back your horse up
everywhere you go.
I very rarely just lead my horse somewhere. I back my horses up everywhere. Like most of you, I have a limited amount of time to actually spend with my horses, so as long as I’m with them, I might as well be teaching them something. So I could drag a horse from Point A to Point B and would get to where I needed to go. Or I could back him there and I would still get to where I needed to go, plus he would have learned something by the time he got there. I try to use every opportunity as a training opportunity. It gives me a chance to gain respect from my horse as well as fine-tune the control I have of his feet. I’ll back a horse in and out of his stall, into the arena, all the way back to the barn, etc. The better a horse backs up, the better he’ll do everything else.
Who knew all this time my going backwards I was learning how to do everything better:-)

Tipsy Tuesday
...that it is never safe to look into the future with eyes
of fear.
Edward H.Harriman said that, and he was right. Nothing
is fearful lest thinking make it so. I can honestly say that
probably 95% of the things I was afraid of, it turned out
I had no reason to be.
And even if the thing you fear happens...so what? Again,
95% of the time your world is not going to fall apart, your
life will not be in danger. So drop fear by the wayside.
Just... let it go. Then make way for a surprising tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Jacqueline, My Dear Friend!
On The Road Again
Quick trip to Salina Sunday night, return to Park City Monday night! Yep still working on getting my house in order, so close, I am so close!
35 years of treasures have been sorted, touched 3 to 4 times and either thrown away, gave away or stored in a storage unit to be thrown away in a year from now when I become tired of paying the monthly fee.
Scott's in Reno so I had it all to myself, that is good and bad, good I got to discard many more things, bad I had to muscle it all myself.
Returning back to Park City alone I was quickly greeted by some furry friends, MICE! OMG I can't believe how frightened I am of mice!
Give me a thousand people to meet, greet, and public speak too, no problem. Live in the same house with roadents, FORGET IT!
I started setting out live traps because in the past I couldn't kill a fly, after seeing, hearing ,and being scared out of my wits by these quick, shit leaving varmants I have turned into a hunter!
As long as you stay out in your space and don't come into my space I won't hurt you, run across my jackets eye level as I go to put a coat away, I must take drastic measures.
I love this house nestled right in the wild, however when the wild moves in it makes me miss all the wild cats at the Salina home. I would rather step on cat crap outside than mouse crap inside. Oh well enough ranting, I keep telling myself this is just another fear I must face, and face it I will, as they say, and this too shall pass.
Well back to On the Road Again, this week I have a jammed packed week. Designing product on Tuesday, 2 business meetings on Wednesday, fly to Reno on Thursday, finish Snaffle Bit Futurity trade show on Sunday, fly to Texas on Monday to design boots and help with the new Lucchese line release for Denver Market 2010. After a 2 day stay in El Paso it's off to Ft. Worth to finish up NFR buying, then the big loop will bring me home to Park City for just a few days before I jet to California for additional training in Acuscope and Myopulse.
Busy, Busy, Busy, and Loving every minute of it, except for my new job as exterminator.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head
Now it gets really weird.
Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Now hang on to your seat.
Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford'.
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker...
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Harmonic Health
The educated public wants non-invasive and non-drug therapy, which is the hallmark of the use of the Electro Acuscope and Myopulse machines.
Dr. Anthony Nebrensky is the inventor of this technology, which received its FDA approval over 22 years ago. Nebrensky helped develop the Missile guidance chip technology as well as the development of electrical measuring devices like EEG’s and EMG's. His background as a physicist led him from missile guidance chip development to using that same technology to scan search and seek, like a smart missile. His technology works at a cellular level, finding the abnormalities of diseased or injured tissue in the human body. Injured or diseased tissue does not maintain a normal electrical conductance and blood flow as well as electricity follows the path of least resistance going around the damaged area instead of through it.
The Acuscope / Myopulse Machines, which are in-put as well as out-put devices find the abnormalities and then send out a corrective signal until the injured area is normalized electrically thus allowing blood flow into the area of pathology instead of going around it. This enhances the body’s ability to heal itself in a very accelerated manner.
Nebrensky theory was that if people are tested for abnormalities by using electrical devices like EEGs and EMG.'s the Acuscope and Myopulse micro-current electro therapy could bring the electricity patterns in the normal range thus helping the healing process of cells that had irregular electrical patterns.
Thorp states, ”The fountain of youth is at our fingertips whether we’re ready for it or not.“ The four Key letters are F. E. E. D.: Fueling the body correctly, Exercise, Electrify, and Detoxify. If one does these things there is no place for disease to manifest and it lessens the possibility of injury to occur.
We will have our machines set up and available for appointments at the high school rodeo this weekend at the Blackhawk Arena in Salina, Utah.
