Training Tip of the Week:
Don’t turn it into a fight.
Clinton Anderson
If your horse is ignoring you when you apply pressure, rather than getting into a pushing match with him by using steady pressure, knock him off balance by using driving pressure. Remember, driving pressure has a rhythmic beat to it and makes it hard for a horse to ignore – one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four. With every set of four numbers you'll increase the pressure until the horse finds the right answer.
