Rave Reviews for all my friends in HIGH PLACES!!!
This week Destiny and Dru hauled horses and the vending trailer to Las Vegas Nevada for the NBHA Supershow.
Lynn and Sue traveled from southern California, they are part of our traveling Burns Team, They are so helpful and fun to work with, we could not have done it without them. Rave Reviews to them, they are remarkable.
Lynn, Sue, Peggy and Gary will travel to Carmel to run the shop for a week during our next big Xtreme Barrel Race held at the Blackhawk Arena July 8-11th in Salina Utah. What a Fab Fun Four, the shop will be left in great hands.
Rave Reviews also to the build out team busily working constructing the remodel for the new store in Carmel. Jake, Matt and 3 generations of Shaw's, Grandpa Wayland, Scott and Braydan will finish up just in time for the opening on June 10th.
Exciting times for our company, we have an incredible team that are unified in their efforts to give impeccable customer service and provide authentic high quality western lifestyle trappings.
And finally Rave Reviews to all my barrel racing friends. After two decades the family has grown tremendously, for the past two years I have been off the road starting new adventures, however, my heart is still with my peeps the barrel racers!
Happy Friendly Trails,
Danna

On The Road Again
BUSY BUSY WEEK!!!
Monday morning as you read this post, Stephanie and I are flying off to El Paso Texas to design boots for our new store in Carmel California!!! Incredibly we will also be putting together our fall and winter line, amazing how fast the year goes by. Two full days of creating wearable works of art! Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
After a quick trip to Texas it's off to my home town of Salina Utah where the second barrel race of the season takes place at the beautiful Blackhawk Arena. Hundreds of contestants will gather to win tens of thousands of dollars and chances at hundreds of thousands worth of awards. We hope for one of our biggest events ever, entries are looking fantastic and of course we accept late entries all weekend long.
If you need an appointment for you or your horse with Harmonic Health, Tegan and Destiny will be set up with the Acu-Scope and Myo-Pulse all week long, you may call Tegan for an appointment at 1-435-201-0169. If you are not familiar with this revolutionary form of energy medicine check out their website at http://www.harmonichealthut.com/
We finish up the big weekend Sunday with the awards ceremony where we will hand out custom made Burns Saddlery saddles, Lucchese Boots, Classic Equine products, Rock and Roll Cowgirl Jeans and much, much, more.
Then it's back to Park City to re-pack for an equally busy week to follow, flying to Monterey/Carmel to find housing and get familiar with the new city we will call home this summer.

On The Road Again
First Xtreme Barrel Race of 2010
If I had one word to describe our event this past weekend it would be SMOOTH!
The HEI team is a unified, high performance, machine. Every person does their job excellently.
It is fun to see everyone, I also enjoy seeing the horses perform. These animals are incredible!!! A magnificent team of horse and rider working together to overcome the obstacles (barrels) with a flow of energy in speed and flexibility.
I get to watch them all, I announce the event. I am so impressed with the talent and determination that runs through that gate at the Blackhawk Arena.
Kudos to all those who are drawn to the dedication of owning and enjoying horses, actually any animal. They give off an incredible frequency of magnificence, it is easy to fall in love with animals. It has been several months since I have ridden I look forward to riding with my girlfriends at the end of this month. Looking forward to connecting with fun inspiring women that love horses and love exploring nature.
Thanks to all those who attended, worked and competed in the event held this past weekend, we look forward to the next big event in May. I will have a run down of the big winners soon.
This week is the last week of ski season, I look back with appreciation for all the success' of the season, I look forward to the change of the season and the transition of snow to grass!
Excitement feels my core with our upcoming trip. Scott and I head out this week for a wonderful trip to California. Yosemite, Carmel, Napa. Nice itinerary!!! A nice change of pace.

Collins Colorado took home the biggest check in the open class. Teigan Adams won $2665 on two horses giving her the largest bank roll of the day. Harrison Oliver won the cowboy race, and the lucky cowboy who won the rifle was Curtis Fitzgerald, winning the Lucchese Boots was Tate Shepherd and the 10 and under winner was Mataya Aagard.

Dream Big
Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action.
Napoleon Hill
I find myself drawn back to Napoleon Hill's success principles over and over, his timeless principles written in the early part of the 20th century are the foundation of the self development movement.
The business projects I have undertaken and just jumped in, feeling completely unready but inspired are my biggest achievements.
I didn't know how I was going to get the Blackhawk Arena, I just had a desire and a commitment to find a way. People, circumstances, and funding started to show up, and before long everything started to fall into place. Were there set backs? Many. Did I give up, NEVER. The perfect team of like minded people came together and we masterminded the obstacles finding solutions for any problems that arose. I look back now and I must say the Blackhawk Team was truly INCREDIBLE!
I received much more than I ever gave in the 16 years of service rendered.
I travel to Salina this week and will stand in the arena that was only a tiny powerful seed of intention in 1990, two years later in 1992 it became a reality, and now 18 years later, 3 phases of additions have also been completed making it even grander than I ever dreamt.
Scores of volunteers came together and made that project happen, and today I get to walk into a building that started as a thought in my head. That is really COOL! Thoughts do become THINGS!!! That is one THING I do know for sure:-)!!
Thank you Napoleon Hill and all those who seek to teach us so we can align ourselves to the mindset of accomplishment.
Always Dreaming Big,
Danna

On The Road Again
First Barrel Race of 2010!!!
It's barrel race time! My first road trip in quite sometime. Ski season has been extended an extra week here in Park City because of all the incredible snow we have received this past week. However ski season or not, the Shaw's will be in Salina this week preparing for the big event located at the beautiful Blackhawk Arena.
I am extremely excited to see and visit my family, our store and team as well as all my barrel racing friends!!! We produce and promote 4 barrel races per year and conclude with a huge finals in August, this year some lucky person will win a $70,000living quarter Lakota horse trailer.
Our whole family will be together individually working on projects to insure the success of this wonderful event. Destiny spear heads all the logistics of making the event happen, working for months getting all the details in place, she is the glue!
Tegan will travel to Salina Thursday, she will be giving Acu-Scope and Myo-Pulse treatments for horses and humans, Tegan along with Destiny run our Energy Medicine business, Harmonic Health. (Call her for an appointment, they are filling fast. Tegan's number is 1-435-201-0169. Both you and your horse will feel and perform better.
Braydan and the great Salina Burns Saddlery Team have painted, spruced up, and will showcase all the new spectacular merchandise for horse and rider, with a selection that is TRULY INCREDIBLE!
Scott heads to Salina on Tuesday to help Dru and Wayland work and prepare the ground so it will be in perfect condition for the barrel racers.
Grandpa Wayland contributes as the leading expert in ground preparation, he has worked the Blackhawk Arena ground since it's ribbon cutting in 1992.
4th Generation Ground Man, Rylan Crane, (the perfect Grandson), at age 8, has 8 years experience working barrel races. His legs are almost long enough to drive the big tractors, he has been driving the small tractor at the farm for over a year.
I will head south on Thursday help put together the awards and event programs, visit everyone I have not seen in months and do what I do best, TALK!! (I am the announcer for the event).
Our HEI team President Bob Maxwell will travel from Nevada bringing great guys to help out with overall details, the rest of the loyal experienced team will come together to serve as needed, making the Xtreme Barrel racing events, FUN, FUN, FUN!
Thanks to all who attend from 10 surrounding states, you make this one of the top barrel series anywhere!! It takes everyone to make it the OUTSTANDING SUCCESS it is!!
See you in Salina,
Danna
