Another Ribbon Cut!

Another Ribbon Cut!

WOW, what a fast, furious, fun, ride this past week has been. Finished up the barrel race event in Salina, flew back to Carmel on Monday, Ribbon Cut on Tuesday, Salinas Rodeo located 25 minutes from Carmel is in full swing.

Lynn, Sue, Peggy and Gary traveled from Southern California and Utah to help us the past very busy 10 days. CONTRIBUTE, is the word that comes to my mind as I think back at all they did to help us get the store ready for the ribbon cutting and held down the shop as we raced off to Utah to help with the barrel race. THANK YOU from my entirety!!

It was great to see everyone at the barrel race, especially those 5 grandchildren:-) Thanks to Wendy Winn, a part time team member and dear friend she picked us up at the airport and delivered us safely . Burns Saddlery looked outstanding. A big thank you to the Burns team for all the attention they give to the clients and overall look of the property.

Another chapter is complete as we turn the page to the exciting adventures that await us in the enchanting village; Carmel-by-the-Sea.

With much APPRECIATION to all who helped and attended the great event.

Dream Big

Hello Again!!!

Did you wonder if I had fell off into the ocean????

This has been the longest I have went without posting, reason, working night and day to get the new Carmel store opened. It's official, on June 12th 2010 at 10:00am Burns Cowboy Shop Carmel opened it's doors for business.

Incredible, just 9 days prior the old tenants were removing the last of their belongings. The Burns Team does it again!!!!

Wayland, Matt, Jake, Braydan and Scott pulled off a miracle!!! The build out is spectacular, new flooring, completely repainted, new dressing room, walls removed and walls added, custom leather wrapped counters, custom glass showcases, all done in just over a week!!!

US Open begins tomorrow, with practice rounds taken all this week, Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula is swarming with golfers, media, and fans.

As I sit here happily exhausted I think, dreams really do come true....all it takes is knowing what you want, be intentional, feel the feeling of receiving your desires and take action when the people, circumstances, and events begin to come towards you with lighting speed. When I read "the Universe Loves Speed" it stuck with me...I either want it or I don't. If I want it I go after it and it races towards me.

I meet successful people every day, the top 2%. They rarely dicker over price, they either like it or they don't. They are intentional, the go after it and rarely do they experience buyers remorse. I love to learn from successful people, their ability to get what they want astounds me. They seem to have a focus and a clear vision of the direction of their dreams. And they don't sweat the small stuff.

Much appreciation fills my heart as I sit here in bed, barley able to keep my eyes open, excited for tomorrow, thankful for all the outstanding people I met today, and a deep happiness for life and all the fun opportunities that are created by thoughts, feelings and emotions.

"Always dream and shoot higher than you know you
can do. Don't bother just to be better than
your contemporaries or predecessors.
Try to be better than yourself."

On The Road Again

As I type this I am setting on a rock 200 feet off the road as we wait for roadside assistance. Destiny's trailer had a blow out and we stripped the lug nuts trying to get them off. Smiling as I am writing my "On the Road Again" blog.

Busy, busy week last week, even busier week this week. Amazing when you think you cannot fit one more thing in you manage to do so.

I was supposed to be headed west instead of east however my mothers brother Ned passed away last week and his services will be held tomorrow.

I jumped in with Destiny to hitch a ride to Salina to be with my Mom. 60 miles from our destination, POP!!! Horses in trailer, lug nuts doing their job very well, so well they refuse to come off. Reminders that it's all about the tools:-)!

Our Burns Team closed the Las Vegas show down last night and another team heads to Heber City for the Utah State High School Rodeo Finals. Oh yeah and remember Carmel... it opens this Thursday!!!

I will jump on a plane and head towards the ocean on Wednesday morning. Misty, Tiffany, Rachael, one teenager and 5 little girls are driving out to California to help set up shop. Braydan, Jake, Matt, Wayland and Scott are hammering away trying to get the build out done before they girls arrive to load shelves and coordinate the merchandise.

Somewhere in between all this I need a hair cut and fresh nails:-)!! Why did I have to be a girl!!!

On the Road Again, In the Air Again, and still smiling, because life is good and a kind man just showed up with the right tools:-))!

Happy Sound Tire Trails,

Danna

Carmel California Move

May 27th 2010

Alivia Kay Shaw's 2nd Birthday...

Scott and Danna's 33rd Wedding Anniversary...

and the day we move into our incredible new home in Carmel California.

Dreams really do come true. Scott and I have been coming to the Monterrey Peninsula for the past 18 years. We fell in love with Carmel the first time we strolled down the quaint 4 block shopping district. It felt as if we had entered another realm of reality.

Carmel with it's European Tuscan Village feel is beautifully preserved from bright lights, stop lights, overhead wires, neon signs and corporate big box stores. The streets are lined with art gallery's bakery's, coffee shops, and 4 star restaurants. They say there are more high quality chefs in Carmel per capita than any where in the world. I believe it!

Carmel has it all, gorgeous white sandy beachs, (voted the cleanest beach in California)! World Class Golf, the US Open will be held in Pebble Beach in June! Exquisite shopping district, day spa's, cool weather all summer long, and a gazillion types of flowers and trees.

Theater, Arts, Golfing, Shopping, Spas, Aquarium, Ocean, Beach's, Sea Life, Freshest Fish, Salads, and local grown everything, including some mighty fine wines.

Today May 27th 2010, 18 years after the first seed of desire was planted to find a way to live in Carmel California, we did it!!

Burns Cowboy Shop Carmel California will be opening June 10th, Braydan, Wayland, Matt, Jake and Dan will head out June 1st to do the build out of the new store, just in time for the doors to be opened for the US Open.

Living the Dream in Paradise,

On The Road Again

Last week of May!!!

Last week in Park City, last week of school, last week of winter:-), last week before we move, last week to hug my grandchildren for a couple of months:>0

Big celebrations this week at our home in Park City. 4 Birthdays, one anniversary, Memorial Day, and a celebration of new adventure as Scott and I prepare for our move to Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Granddaughters Jacy Jo, Alivia, and Ainsley all have birthdays this week. Scott and I celebrate 33 years of marriage and Destiny, our daughter, has a birthday next week. So this week it is party time at the Shaw's!

Picnic's, games, crab fest, and a visit to the zoo. A reunion in celebration of family and life.

I am so blessed to have a beautiful, healthy family, they make my insides smile.

To share ones life with another and continue life forward by having children and grandchildren, then watch as they expand and grow both in body and spirit is, the ultimate gift of life.

Giving thanks this day for the family that I get to spend time with, this, the last week in May.

Happy Family Trails,

Danna

On The Road Again

First Xtreme Barrel Race of 2010

If I had one word to describe our event this past weekend it would be SMOOTH!

The HEI team is a unified, high performance, machine. Every person does their job excellently.

It is fun to see everyone, I also enjoy seeing the horses perform. These animals are incredible!!! A magnificent team of horse and rider working together to overcome the obstacles (barrels) with a flow of energy in speed and flexibility.

I get to watch them all, I announce the event. I am so impressed with the talent and determination that runs through that gate at the Blackhawk Arena.

Kudos to all those who are drawn to the dedication of owning and enjoying horses, actually any animal. They give off an incredible frequency of magnificence, it is easy to fall in love with animals. It has been several months since I have ridden I look forward to riding with my girlfriends at the end of this month. Looking forward to connecting with fun inspiring women that love horses and love exploring nature.

Thanks to all those who attended, worked and competed in the event held this past weekend, we look forward to the next big event in May. I will have a run down of the big winners soon.

This week is the last week of ski season, I look back with appreciation for all the success' of the season, I look forward to the change of the season and the transition of snow to grass!

Excitement feels my core with our upcoming trip. Scott and I head out this week for a wonderful trip to California. Yosemite, Carmel, Napa. Nice itinerary!!! A nice change of pace.
