Inspire Me

"When fear appears greet it with the understanding that you can use its energy to turn any situation into a positive desire and a willingness to challenge yourself"

Recognizing fear helps dispel it.

A Course In Miracles, states, "there are only two emotions love or fear". We are either acting out of love or fear.

I ask myself many times a day, is this reaction coming from love or fear.

Love and fear are both feelings and emotions. When we feel happy, joyous, blissful, those feelings resonate with love. If we are angry, sad, or upset we are afraid, afraid someone will not live up to our expectations, afraid someone will hurt us, afraid we will fail, and we feel fearful.

Feel your emotions, feel your body, how does it feel, full of love or full of fear.

The course also states, "all disease is anger taken out on the body." I know first hand of that truth. I feel what happens to my body when I am angry, my heart races, my neck tightens and gets red, muscles tighten and twitch in my jaw and back, I am physically attacking my body with anger.

Our bodies are incredible electronic mass of 50 trillion cells, all with censors and transmitters attached, our thoughts, feelings, and emotions effect the way our cells live and communicate with each other. We should romance each of them by loving and nourishing them with healthy food and thoughts.

I have immersed myself in the study of cell biology, it fascinates me, the more I learn the more I have a willingness to challenge myself to utilize my emotions for my cells sake.

Carmel California Move

May 27th 2010

Alivia Kay Shaw's 2nd Birthday...

Scott and Danna's 33rd Wedding Anniversary...

and the day we move into our incredible new home in Carmel California.

Dreams really do come true. Scott and I have been coming to the Monterrey Peninsula for the past 18 years. We fell in love with Carmel the first time we strolled down the quaint 4 block shopping district. It felt as if we had entered another realm of reality.

Carmel with it's European Tuscan Village feel is beautifully preserved from bright lights, stop lights, overhead wires, neon signs and corporate big box stores. The streets are lined with art gallery's bakery's, coffee shops, and 4 star restaurants. They say there are more high quality chefs in Carmel per capita than any where in the world. I believe it!

Carmel has it all, gorgeous white sandy beachs, (voted the cleanest beach in California)! World Class Golf, the US Open will be held in Pebble Beach in June! Exquisite shopping district, day spa's, cool weather all summer long, and a gazillion types of flowers and trees.

Theater, Arts, Golfing, Shopping, Spas, Aquarium, Ocean, Beach's, Sea Life, Freshest Fish, Salads, and local grown everything, including some mighty fine wines.

Today May 27th 2010, 18 years after the first seed of desire was planted to find a way to live in Carmel California, we did it!!

Burns Cowboy Shop Carmel California will be opening June 10th, Braydan, Wayland, Matt, Jake and Dan will head out June 1st to do the build out of the new store, just in time for the doors to be opened for the US Open.

On The Road Again

Last week of May!!!

Last week in Park City, last week of school, last week of winter:-), last week before we move, last week to hug my grandchildren for a couple of months:>0

Big celebrations this week at our home in Park City. 4 Birthdays, one anniversary, Memorial Day, and a celebration of new adventure as Scott and I prepare for our move to Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Granddaughters Jacy Jo, Alivia, and Ainsley all have birthdays this week. Scott and I celebrate 33 years of marriage and Destiny, our daughter, has a birthday next week. So this week it is party time at the Shaw's!

Picnic's, games, crab fest, and a visit to the zoo. A reunion in celebration of family and life.

I am so blessed to have a beautiful, healthy family, they make my insides smile.

To share ones life with another and continue life forward by having children and grandchildren, then watch as they expand and grow both in body and spirit is, the ultimate gift of life.

Giving thanks this day for the family that I get to spend time with, this, the last week in May.

Inspire Me

Neale Donald Walsh sent me the following and I wanted to share his wisdom.
...fun is not defined as the absence of challenging
circumstances, but as the absence of anger about them.

Of course, it is natural to become "fed up" with some
of the worst conditions of physical life. Yet the fun of
life is in embracing a perspective that allows you to
look into the face of those conditions and demonstrate
who you are in spite of them.

Where is the fun in that? you might say. The fun is in
the victory, my friend. The fun is in the victory.

Happy Happy Birthday to Jacy Jo Crane our beautiful, happy, joyous 5 year old perfect granddaughter. We Love You!!!!

Funny Friday

The very first ever Blonde GUY joke..... And well worth the wait!

An Irishman , a Mexican and a Blonde Guy were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a building.

They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, 'Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building.'

The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, 'Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time I'm going to jump off, too.'

The blonde opened his lunch and said, ' Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too..'

The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death.

The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too.

The blonde guy opened his lunch, saw the bologna and jumped to his death as well.

At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, 'If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!'

The Mexican's wife also wept and said, 'I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much.'

(Oh this is GOOD!!)

Everyone turned and stared at the blonde's wife. The blonde's wife said, 'Don't look at me. The idiot makes his own lunch.'

Rock and Hawk

Here is a symbol in which
Many high tragic thoughts
Watch their own eyes.

This gray rock, standing tall
On the headland, where the seawind
Lets no tree grow,

Earthquake-proved, and signatured
By ages of storms: on its peak
A falcon has perched.

I think, here is your emblem,
To hang in the future sky;
Not the cross, not the hive,

But this; bright power, dark peace;
Fierce consciousness joined with final
Disinterestedness;Life with calm death; the falcon's
Realist eyes and act
Married to the massive

Mysticism of stone,
Which failure cannot cast down
Nor success make proud.

~ Robinson Jeffers ~

The poet Robinson Jeffers was born in 1887 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to California with his family as a teenager. After marrying in 1913, he and his wife settled in Carmel, California. In 1919, he began building a stone cottage overlooking Carmel Bay which he called Tor House, after the craggy knoll, or "tor" on which it was built. Nearby, Jeffers also built a forty-foot stone structure—Hawk Tower—selecting and laying each stone himself.

Both the Tower and the coastal landscape figure strongly in Jeffers’s poetry, much of which celebrates the awesome beauty of the hills and ravines that plunged into the Pacific. His poem "Rock and Hawk" is a perfect example of his belief in the dramatic, and often tragic, power of nature:

As I near the time I spread my wings and fly to Carmel California, I too, "celebrate the awesome beauty of the hills and ravines that plunged into the Pacific."

Funny Friday

Three men were hiking through a forest...

when they came upon a large raging, violent river.

Needing to get to the other side, the first man prayed:

' God, please give me the strength to cross the river.

Poof!!!

God gave him big arms and strong legs...

and he was able to swim across in about 2 hours,
having almost drowned twice.

After witnessing that, the second man prayed:

'God, please give me strength and the tools to cross the river'
Poof!!!
God gave him a rowboat and strong arms and strong legs...
and he was able to row across
in about an hour
after almost capsizing once

Seeing what happened to the first two men,
the third man prayed:

'God, please give me the strength, the tools and the intelligence to cross the river'
Poof!!!

HE WAS TURNED INTO A WOMAN!!!

She checked the map, hiked one hundred yards upstream...

and walked across the bridge:-)

Find Out What Myopulse and Acuscope Can Do For You and Your Horse's Ailments

How I found the Acuscope and Myopulse

By Destiny Crane

Solom Sarina running a 16.726 at the PACWEST right after treatment

In 2006 my horse Another Cruizer ran a 16.8 in a standard pattern following that run he was slightly "off". He was undiagnosed for two years, giving me all he could I knew he was in pain so I decided to retire him. Shortly after I came across an Acuscope. I sent him for a 5 day a week rehab program for 4 weeks. He came home to me 2 days before an Xtreme Barrel Race in Salina Utah he felt so good I decided to run him. Out of 425 entries each day he placed in the top 10 of the 1D the 1st go, Won the 1D the second go and was 2nd in the average. Amazed with his transformation and to ensure he would continue to be pain free I sent him back for another 4 weeks of treatments. Shortly after he came home the second time we went to the NBHA Las Vegas Show where he placed in the first two goes and won the 1D in the third go. Today he is still pain free and winning checks in the 1D.

From June to September I researched the Acuscope and Myopulse I found extensive scientific research, FDA approval and even a noble prize for the technology. Where it was keeping Cruizer happy and healthy I decided to purchase the equipment just for him. After going to class and learning what these instruments could do I couldn't keep this technolgy just for him. I had a rehab horse with a torn hamstring the day I arrived home from class. We now have 3 full sets of equipment working full time.

The past year and a half I have been privilaged to see first hand how amazing these Instruments are. Check out our testimonial page for some examples of our other success stories. To schedule an appointment and become our next success story contact us. If you would like to have a rewarding career as an Acuscope/Myopulse therapist check out our trainings page.

Acuscope and Myopulse Therapy

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse are sophisticated electronic medical instruments with an input-output (read/treat) mechanism. The low voltage micro-current allows healing of damaged neural and connective tissue. what makes the Acuscope & Myopulse instruments unique to other micro-current devices is that the Acuscope and Myopulse are the only microcurrent instruments available that are able to decipher abnormal tissue response and adjust the electrical output to produce a corrective current that normalizes or relaxes damaged tissue. The treatment is non-invasive and virtually painless.

For more information contact Destiny Crane at 1-435-201-0500 or Tegan Shaw at 1-435-201-0169. Or visit thier website at www.harmonichealthut.com.

They will be set up at the Xtreme Barrel Race May 11th-16th, held in Salina Utah at the Blackhawk Arena.

"Listen to your life. All moments are key moments."
— Frederick Buechner: Writer and theologian

We all remember the key moments of our life; when our children were born, going on incredible vacations, moving into our first homes. But how about the sunrises, a flower blooming with dew drops attached, perfect cobwebs that glisten in the sunlight, or western skies before and after summer storms.

We should make sure our eyes are wide opened every day, living life to the fullest, not just waiting for those "special occasions", because "all moments are key moments".

House on Fire Ruins, Mule Canyon, Cedar Mesa, Utah

Visiting Red Rock and the Ocean, two of my favorites!!!

Where to start? They say the beginning. Do I begin with the vacation trip to Carmel California that turned into a business trip by finding a perfect location for our third store?

Yes, it looks as if I will be packing my bags to live, work, and enjoy summers in breathtaking Carmel By The Sea!

Living in the magic of life is incredible!!! When you are on purpose, focusing on what you want, people, circumstances, and events miraculously appear. Within minutes of arriving in Carmel I knew we had found the right location for another fun, Burns Cowboy Shop.

Plans are to be opened by the 5th of June, just in time for the US Open held at the spectacular Pebble Beach Golf Course.

Our new shop, located on Ocean Ave is part of the world famous shopping district, Carmel By The Sea! Make sure you stop in and see us when you are in the area.

Next, I just got back from a riding trip with 4 incredible women!!! We rode the Cedar Mesa and Grand Gulch area, located in beautiful southern Utah near Blanding.
Celia Snow got the permits clear back in February as they only allow 8 people into the Gulch at a time. The beauty was beyond words!!!

Celia set up and organized the 6 day camp trip, her skills and abilities astounds me. She has navigational skills that resemble Sacajawea. There is no way I would go and do a trip like that without her guiding the group. She gives all of us confidence. She is a gifted horsewoman with a knack for finding Native American Ruins, cliff dwellings, granaries and wall writings. She is a true Cowgirl/Indian Princess!

Five women all with different careers and lifestyles coming together for the love of riding, re-uniting friendships, and exploring the gifts of nature.

The experience, forever changed my life!!! Thank You Ceila for making it happen, you are AMAZING.

I have "Rave Reviews" for my wonderful riding friends, they are so much fun, they inspire me with their overall skills and abilities. They challenge me to be a better horsewoman, facing fears head on and overcoming all obstacles, both physically, and mentally, insuring a pleasant journey of pure beauty.

The last day we hiked on foot, good thing, most of the animals were tired and sore. We ended up at House on Fire Ruins, Simply Incredible!!! Above is a picture of the light hitting the multi color sandstone overhang, giving the appearance of fire coming out of this amazing ancient ruin. Very impressive!!!

I am truly blessed!

I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I'm leaving you forever. I've been a good man to you for 7 years & I have nothing to show for it....These last 2 weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell me that you quit your job today & that was the last straw. Last week, you came home & didn't even notice I had a new haircut, had cooked your favorite meal & even wore a brand new pair of silk boxers. You ate in 2 minutes, & went straight to sleep after watching all of your soaps. You don't tell me you love me anymore; you don't want sex or anything that connects us as husband & wife. Either you are cheating on me or you don't love me anymore; whatever the case, I'm gone.

Your EX-Husband

P.S. don't try to find me. Your SISTER & I are moving away to West Virginia
together! Have a great life!
Dear Ex-Husband

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It's true you & I have been married for 7 years, although a good man is a far cry from what you've been. I watch my soaps so much because they drown out your constant whining & griping. Too bad that doesn't work. I DID notice when you got a hair cut last week, but the 1st thing that came to mind was 'You look just like a girl!' Since my mother raised me not to say anything if you can't say something nice, I didn't comment. And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork 7 years ago. About those new silk boxers: I turned away from you because the $49.99 price tag was still on them, & I prayed it was a coincidence that my sister had just borrowed $50 from me that morning. After all of this, I still loved you & felt we could work it out. So when I hit the lotto for ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought us 2 tickets to Jamaica !!!!! But when I got home you were gone. Everything happens for a reason, I guess. I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted. My lawyer said that the letter you wrote ensures you won't get a dime from me. So take care.

Signed,
Your Ex-Wife, Rich As Hell & Free!

P.S. I don't know if I ever told you this, but my sister Carla was born Carl. I hope that's not a problem.

Happy Weekend Trails,

Danna
